Jesus is the 2x2s’ Elder Brother. Jesus is the firstborn, which is the elder sibling in a family:

Colossians 1:18 – And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Romans 8:29 – For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Hebrews 2:11 – For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Matthew 12:50 – For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

Worker Quote: The second thing that is made possible when we are born again is this–we can now be conformed to the image of our Elder Brother…We can become like Him who lived to show us how to live. (Jack Carroll, Ede Holland, Aug. 6, 1950*)

Worker Quote: God is our Father and Jesus is our elder brother. God is supreme. He and the Son planned Jesus’ coming. If just the blood was all that was needed, then Jesus could have died as a baby. It is the manner of His life that we need to see. The Lord has given the perfect way. His Spirit is like the road signs. It will guide us. (Susan Weichert, Spokane WA 1981*)

Worker Quote: God’s people in the world are not a sect, or a denomination or a church. They are a Family. They are His sons and His daughters. He is their Father. Jesus is their Elder Brother, and they are brethren. (Jack Carroll, 1947)

Overseer Quote: “There are three in the Trinity. God, the Father to us. Jesus, the Elder Brother, and the Holy Spirit suggests the part that a mother does in the human family. She comforts and cares for the child. Jesus taught that.” (George Walker, 1975 Newry Pennsylvania Conv.)
