They do not celebrate Christmas or Easter as religious holidays.
All 2x2s do not celebrate Christmas or Easter in the same manner.
Some 2x2s claim that rather than celebrate only Dec. 25, they celebrate or revere Jesus’ birth all year long–since no one knows for certain exactly when Jesus was born.
Some view Christmas as a pagan holiday and condemn Christmas trees as a Pagan custom, using:
Jeremiah 10:2-4 – Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not”
Some 2x2s in various parts of the world celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday, giving gifts, a special meal, and with various degrees of decorations, usually not with a Christmas tree. Others consider Dec. 25 the same as any other day of the year.
If the annual winter Special Meeting date happens to fall on Dec. 25, the Workers hold the Special Meeting on that day, regardless that it disrupts many family traditions.
