Evangelism – Great Commission – Honest Hearts

Evangelism is the role of the Workers, who sometimes call themselves Evangelists. Most of their evangelizing or recruitment is usually carried out in a particular type of meeting referred to as Gospel Meetings where members bring outsiders to hear the workers preach. In their early days, they called themselves Go-Preachers.

Workers are looking for honest hearts who are seeking truth and God’s true way. They believe God sees inside the hearts of mankind and will direct the honest hearted to a Worker so they can hear their Gospel and profess. Sometimes God leads honest hearted people out of other churches into the 2×2 church.

The Workers have pioneered their Gospel in numerous foreign countries, and enter other countries as/when they open their doors to foreign missionaries. The Workers take Jesus’ command literally (The Great Commission):

Mark 16:15 – And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Matt 28:19-20 – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Worker Quote: Our numbers are very few in comparison to the population…but their influence can be far-reaching. It can be a light to any honest heart that was seeking truth and seeking to know the right way to worship God and serve Him (George Walker, Lowell Special Mtg, 1968).

Worker Quote: How could any preacher obey the Great Commission to go into all the world if he had a home, or business, or farm of his own? No man could accept or obey that commission unless he was willing to obey the conditions Jesus laid down, and literally and actually fulfill all of them (Jack Carroll, Bakersfield, CA, 1946)
