The Harvest Field is all the people in the world who are not saved. The Workers hear the call to labor and volunteer to preach. The first to profess in an area are called the firstfruits (Rom 8:23).

Luke 10:2 – Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

The Workers are called Laborers and are referred to as laboring; e.g. John Doe is laboring again in Japan this year.

Worker Quote: …pray earnestly for those who labor in countries where there are almost no friends and the workers press on year after year. It would be easy for those who labor in countries where there is lots of interest, but please don’t forget those who labor in very different conditions (John Mastin, Carsonville, MI, 2007)

Worker Quote: Now, it is a very real step for young men and young women in the prime of life, when prospects are brightest, when they have visions of possibilities in their lives, to deliberately turn their back upon it all, sacrifice everything and go forth into God’s great Harvest Field to preach the Gospel. (Jack Carroll, Hayden Lake, Idaho, 1932)

In that neighborhood at that time, it seemed there were more young people in their late teens and early twenties than there had been for a long time. There were whole families who made their choice to serve God. The meetings only lasted for three weeks, but fourteen workers went out from that mission. Some have gone on to their reward. A very few did not continue, but the majority continued in the great harvest field and are today in different parts of the world. (Frances/Fanny Carroll, Santee, 1964)
