Holy Ghost – Holy Spirit

Home » Doctrine, Teachings & Belief » Holy Ghost – Holy Spirit

The 2x2s believe the terms Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost and Comforter all refer to the same entity. Jesus promised when he left the earth that He would send the Holy Spirit to be their guide (John 16:13). The Holy Ghost is given to those who obey (Acts 5:32).

They usually refer to the Holy Spirit as an object (it) and not as a person (He). They do not view the Holy Spirit as God the Spirit, the third part of the trinity. They believe the Spirit is the presence of God that comes and goes in a believer, depending on their actions.

The spirit is also viewed as the demeanor or attitude of the individual. Hence the bad spirit label is applied to those not in the good graces of the Workers. A right spirit is a desirable, proper attitude, demeanor, respect and submission, particularly toward the Workers.

Worker Quote: We trust in the Holy Spirit, we are a Spirit-led people and we follow a Spirit-led ministry. If it weren’t so, we would be no different to anybody else in this world. (Charles Vaughan, Maroota, 2012)
