Foot Washing – Ordinance

2x2s do not observe foot washing. Jesus washed his disciples feet and instructed them to do likewise in John 13:1-17. There are two Ordinances that all Christians agree upon which Jesus Christ has instituted and established for His Church. They are, Baptism and the Communion; and there is debate over a third one, that of foot washing.

An Ordinance is an outward institution, a prescribed practice, ordered by Jesus, to be observed by all his people to the end of the age. The Church puts into practice an Ordinance because Jesus instructed it to be done that way.

Worker Quote: “Footwashing was a service performed of necessity, but it was never an ordinance”
