Apostolic Succession is the uninterrupted transmission of spiritual authority from the Apostles through successive ministers to the present. A direct line of preachers continuously stretching back to the apostles. It is the claim that the current-day Workers come from a series of Workers in an unbroken chain, each having professed through another Worker, going back to the apostles.
The concept of apostolic succession is not found in Scripture. No one has ever successfully traced the 2×2 Sect back to the New Testament primitive church—because it is demonstrably NOT of apostolic succession. When the truth became known about the 2×2 Sect’s original founding and history, they lost many members due to this misrepresentation.
Even the 2×2 author and historian Dr. Cornelius Jaenen, disclosed in his book (Apostles’ Doctrine & Fellowship, page 535) that he found no evidence of apostolic succession in his investigation of the church’s history: “In our efforts to trace the continuity of primitive Christian ideals over the centuries, no unbroken successions or continuous activities of a particular identifiable group have been documented.”
