Excommunication – dis-fellowshipped – expelled – put out

Home » Church Members » Excommunication – dis-fellowshipped – expelled – put out

Excommunication is when a member is expelled, put out, or dis-fellowshipped (all these terms mean the same) from the 2×2 church, and they are no longer allowed to attend services.

Shunning often follows. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them (Rom. 16:17).

The term Standing Down or stood down is used in some areas and means not taking an active part in fellowship meetings, while still attending them.

Conditions for Fellowship: When Workers have stepped over the line, some are given Conditions For Fellowship they must follow if they want to remain in the work. Ed Cooney and John Long were given Conditions for Fellowship. (See Conditions for Fellowship given to Truitt Oyler and Bob Ingram)
